Traces 2020

Following an autobiographical narrative, the body of work refers to the traces of memories that remain with us in the present, and the traces of ourselves that we leave behind in our memories.

She found the remains  of a life lived, imprints  that echo  the memories in her mind, the trails  left behind on the places she has been, and the things that she has seen.  Her footprints  vanish as the evidence  of her existence gradually fades into blurred traces. Stains left on the souvenirs  she convinced herself will keep them from disappearing.

Scenes:

(Scene 1): Remains… of the birthday, she woke up to a room that her mom and dad had filled with balloons.

(Scene 2): Echo… of the picnic she had with her family while watching as a hot air balloon floated over the mountains.

(Scene 3): Evidence… of the kite she flew with her dad, and the flight she took with her mom.

(Scene 4): Footprints… of the times she watched the clouds roll by, the stars in the sky, and laughed with her family around a bushfire.

(Scene 5): Trials… of the sunrises she watched while ploughing the lands as she farmed with her dad.

(Scene 6): Imprint… of dreaming about life while swinging on the swing her dad had built for her.

(Scene 7): Souvenir… of the walks on the beach, and watching her dad draw a pier for her mom to paint.
